Abstract
An efficient and transition metal-free C(sp(3))-H sulfonylation method is described for the synthesis of 2-sulfolmethyl quinolines from 2-methylquinolines and the inexpensive sulfonyl hydrazides. Generally, this protocol uses KI as an additive in the presence of the oxidant tert-butyl peroxybenzoate (TBPB), an efficient and compatible benign method that delivers 2-sulfolmethyl quinolines products in moderate to good yields.
