摘要
•Hydrodeoxygenation of phenolic compound over cheap Ni-based catalysts were investigated.•Profoundly high yield of deoxygenated compound was obtained over Ni2P catalyst.•The Ni2P phase possessed prior ability for C–OH bond cleavage as compared to metallic Ni.•Reaction mechanism of Ni2P-catalysed for hydrodeoxygenation of m-cresol was discussed.
