Visible‐Light‐Induced Deoxygenative Acylation Aromatization of p‐Quinone Methides with Carboxylic Acids

摘要
A visible-light-induced acylation aromatization of para-quinone methides to access alpha,alpha '-diarylated ketones was realized with cheap and readily available carboxylic acids as acylating reagents via deoxygenation. The synthetic method avoids the tedious preparation of reactants or catalysts and shows a broad substrate scope (34 examples) under mild conditions. Notably, the late-stage functionalization of some drug molecules could also be achieved via this protocol.
