Doppler Spectrum Analysis of Hypersonic Vehicle Based on Dynamic RCS

In this paper, the parallel physical optics (PO) method is used to calculate the dynamic radar cross section (RCS) of the hypersonic vehicle covered with plasma sheath, and the Doppler spectra of the hypersonic vehicle at different reentry altitudes are calculated in the same time domain. The results show that: The relative motion between hypersonic vehicle and Space-borne Radar results in small frequency shift of Doppler spectrum; In addition, the backscattering echo intensity of different frequency electromagnetic (EM) waves at different positions of the vehicle covered with plasma sheath is different with time, which leads to the Doppler spectrum broadening of hypersonic target. The research results provide technical means and data support for hypersonic targets echo detection and feature recognition.
