Data Aggregation in WSN using Improved Energy Efficient LEACH Protocol

Wireless sensor networks are made up oflarge amount of sensor nodes that are insufficient in terms of energy, processing power, and storage. The primary responsibility of the sensor node was data collections and transmission to the base station. As a result, lifetime of network becomes a key condition for optimal data aggregation scheme design in wireless sensor networks. The primary objective of this work is to create a simple and highly effective data aggregation technique that provides efficient data transmission, improved energy efficiency, and increased network lifetime of a wireless sensor network. This research proposes an improved energy-efficient LEACH (IEE-LEACH) approach for data aggregation. The Gaussian distribution model is utilized in this case to provide efficient coverages of the sensing networks region. The conditional probability theorywas also applied to node aggregations. The proposed model extends lifetime of network by taking the shortest path for transmission of data. The proposed model's efficiency is measured using the average energy consumption for data aggregation, packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, and throughput. Experiment results reveal that the proposed model provides an efficient route for transmission of data between sensor nodes in an effective manner, hence extending lifetime of network as compared to other existing LEACH protocols.
