Synthesis and bacteriostatic properties of epoxybenzooxocino[4,3-b]pyridine derivatives

•Oxime 7 was obtained in a mixture of Z- and E-isomers in a ratio of 2:3.•Compound 8 was obtained with good yield from Claisen ester condensation of 3 with ethyl acetate.•1H-pyrazole containing derivatives 9a,b and 10a,b were obtained with satisfactory yields.•The multicomponent synthesis of 11 was performed along with its further oxidation to 12.•Compound 13 was obtained with excellent yield as a mixture of (S,R)-isomers.•6a–6c and 10b were highlighted as the most affective ligands against possible causative agents of tuberculosis.
