摘要
Bay leaf has potential to act as a botanical fumigant due to the presence of its active ingredients. The use of bay leaf as botanical fumigant in tablet form to control R. dominica has not been widely used. Therefore, this research aimed to determine the effect of fumigant activity of bay leaf tablets on the growth rate of R. dominica. This study was carried out under laboratory condition with a non-selective test for each treatment. The research consisted of five levels of bay leaf concentration (0, 3, 5, 7, and 9 ml/l air) and repeated five times. This research was arranged by completely randomized design of observed variable were mortality, LC50, LC90, number of eggs, number of F1 progeny, F1 progeny inhibition, diet weight loss, and consumption reduction. The result showed that the mortality and the rate of inhibition of R. dominica were higher at 7 and 9 ml/l and significantly different with the other concentrations. The LC50 and LC90 values respectively were 4.38 and 5.21 ml/l air. The number of eggs, F1 progeny, and weight loss of diet were higher at 0 ml/l air, while the consumption reduction was higher at 5, 7, and 9 ml/l air than at 0 and 3 ml/l air.
