Abstract
Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) is an effective alternative to anticoagulation in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and is often considered in patients with increased bleeding risk. The prevalence of AF is higher in cirrhosis patients than in the general population, but anticoagulation strategy can be challenging due to anemia and risk of bleeding. While there are studies on anticoagulation in patients with cirrhosis, there is no study to date that investigated LAAO in patients with cirrhosis.
