摘要
•Two alpha-synuclein oligomers OI and OII co-exist in equilibrium.•EGCG induces methionine oxidation and unfolding of the oxidized N-terminal region.•EGCG stabilizes the folded non-oxidized N-terminal region of the oligomer.•Both effects decrease membrane permeabilization, thereby detoxifying the oligomers.
