Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion in Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia Patients (Rendu Osler Syndrome) With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation: Prevention of Cardioembolic Events While Avoiding the Long-Term Risks of Oral Anticoagulation
Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine(2022)
摘要
•Hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHF) is an inherited vascular disorder, associated with bleeding events.•Use of left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) in HHF patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) is scarce.•In our cohort, procedural outcomes were very favourable with a 100% success rate and no incidence of procedure-complications. Follow-up data in terms of ischemic protection were also very promising with no neurological events.•LAAO might represent a promising non-pharmacological alternative to prevent thromboembolic events in patients with HHT and NVAF.
