Abstract
An eight-port high-isolation antenna array for 3.3–6 GHz handset applications is presented. The proposed antenna array is composed of a C-shaped microstrip patch, two rectangular radiating microstrips on a metal frame, and a rectangular slot on the ground plane. The dimension of the individual antenna element is 12.5 × 7 × 0.8 mm3. By adopting an M−shaped slot on the ground plane between two adjacent antenna elements, the isolations are improved. The presented eight-port antenna array operates from 3.14 to 6.09 GHz, which can cover 5G N77 (3.3–4.2 GHz), N78 (3.3–3.8 GHz), N79 (4.4–5 GHz), and LTE 46 (5.15–5.93 GHz). The isolation values are inferior to −17.8 dB. Total efficiencies and peak realized gains exceed 69.85 % and 6.94 dB, respectively. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated results.
