Abstract
Background: Surgery of colorectal cancer has been associated with a high risk of postoperative complications. Surgical site infections (SSIs) are one of the most common postoperative complications following colorectal procedures with many negative consequences for patients, such as extended hospital stay, morbidity, readmission, and death. The aim of this study is to assess the relationship between SSIs and TNM classification of malignant tumors and determine whether they are correlated or not.
