Design and synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole incorporated pyrimidine-benzoxazole derivatives as anticancer agents

A new library of 1,2,3-triazole linked pyrimidine-benzoxazole derivatives (11a-j) have been synthesized and characterized. Further, the preliminary anticancer activities of newly synthesized compounds (11a-j) were tested on four human cancer cell lines such as prostate cancer (PC3 and DU-145), lung cancer (A549) and breast cancer (MCF-7) by using of MTT method. These activities were compared with clinical drug candidate etoposide. Among the screened compounds, five compounds 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d and 11j exhibited considerable activities on four cell lines. In which one compound 11b showed most promising activity among the synthesized compounds.
