Abstract
•Gd doped Fe-Beta catalyst showed enhanced NOx reduction >97% at 600 °C.•Gd doping enhanced the surface acidity of Fe-Beta catalyst beneficial for NH3 adsorption.•Addition of Gd to Fe-Beta improved the hydrothermal stability upon ageing at 800 °C in presence of steam.•System level demonstrated that Gd/Fe-BEA catalyst reduced 477 ppm of NOx in 300-kW ammonia gas turbine to less than 4.3 ppm.
