Abstract
•LC × LC separations can be achieved using green solvents to protect the environment.•Propylene carbonate is a suitable green alternative to hazardous organic modifiers commonly used in LC × LC applications.•Separation metrics achieved with propylene carbonate used in the first dimension were comparable to those obtained using ACN and MeOH in LC × LC separations.
