Fennel‐seeds extract as an analyte protectant for the GC‐MS/MS residue analysis of 182 pesticide in strawberries: Comparing the manual mixing and sandwich injection

•The Clean-up salt amount was optimized to decrease MeCN co-extracted polar components.•Fennel-seed extract protects both polar and non-polar pesticides using GC-MSMS.•The method enables direct repeatable analyses of the acetonitrile sample extracts.•Manual mixing of strawberry and fennel-seed extracts exhibits superior performance.•A sensitive and robust analysis of 182 pesticides in strawberries was achieved.
