Studies of aluminum erosion by neutral particles using quartz crystal microbalance and low energy neutral particle analyzer on EAST

•The LENPA and QMB systems were successfully developed on EAST to study the neutral-induced material erosion together.•The neutral-induced Al erosion rates for the 11 long-pulse full discharges in EAST given by the QMB and the LENPA are consistent with each other.•Higher density and heating power can increase the flux and energy of neutral particles, which results in stronger neutral-induced material erosion.
