Abstract
•For different lead compounds the 208PbO2− and 208PbF3− currents were 0.5–1.2 μA.•The performance of PbF2 mixed with AgF, AgF2 and SbF3 at different ratios was tested.•The negative ion production increased with a lower Cs temperature of 86 °C.•Negative ion formation efficiencies of ∼2.4 ‰ could be achieved.
