Abstract
In this work, the numerical simulation of SnS thin films based solar cells with different nontoxic buffer layers in comparison to the toxic CdS buffer layer, using the solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS-1D) has been done. This is a preliminary study for the purpose of opening the experimental way to make solar cells based SnS thin films with non-toxic tampon layers, and also consists of the earth-abundant elements. The results of this study show that the use of alternate layers such as SnS2 and In2S3 causes an improvement in the performance of SnS thin films based solar cells.
