摘要
Objective: This study was designed to systematically evaluate the change in volume, as well as its influencing factors, during decompression treatment of OKC in terms of the volume reduction rate and decompression time to determine the therapeutic effect and duration associated with this treatment. Methods: The PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, China Biomedical Abstract Database, CNKI and Wanfang da-tabases were searched to collect a cohort studies on the use of decompression in OKC treatment. The search period ranged from the establishment of each database to 2022. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria established by the six elements of PICOS, two groups of researchers screened the literature, extracted the data, and evaluated the quality. Stata 15.1 was used for the meta-analysis.Results: Eight cohort studies with a total sample size of 129 patients were included. The meta-analysis results showed that the combined volume reduction rate was 58.5% (95% CI:54.5-62.5%). The combined decom-pression time was 258.6 days (95% CI:232.0-285.2). There was controversy in the included studies about whether the initial volume influenced the decompression effect, and most of the studies also mentioned that the decompression effect was better for younger patients or patients with OKC in the maxillary bone. Conclusion: The combined volume reduction rate was 58.5% (95% CI:54.5-62.5%), and the combined decom-pression time was 258.6 days (95% CI:232.0-285.2 days). However, due to the limitations of the quality and quantity of the included studies, the above conclusions need to be improved by more high-quality studies.
