•Room temperature rolling can improve the Ms of Fe85P11C2B2 amorphous alloy.•The enhancement of free volume and surface roughness results in an increase in ρ.•Adjusting the rolling direction can improve the magnetic properties of ribbons.•The ribbons still maintain good ductility after rolling at room temperature.
