Enthalpy-related parameters of interaction of sucrose, lactose and their monosaccharide constituents with the mebicar (N-tetramethylglycoluril) drug in an aqueous medium at 298.15 K

•Enthalpies of solution of the mebicar drug in aqueous sucrose, lactose and their monosaccharides were measured at 298.15 K.•Unusual effect of strengthening the mebicar hydration when the sucrose content is rising in ternary solution was discovered.•Enthalpy-heterotactic coefficients of solute - cosolute pair interaction were calculated using the McMillan-Mayer formalism.•Positive parameters of pair interaction with mebicar decrease in the series galactose < glucose < fructose < lactose < sucrose.•Unlike monosaccharide solutions, homotactic coefficients for aqueous disaccharides were found more than heterotactic those.
