Abstract
•The self-magnetic flux leakage effect eliminates the need for any processing on the RC beam.•The whole process failure test of RC beams under four-point bending loading was carried out.•The RC beams' stress and crack development over the entire loading process were analyzed.•A dimensionless parameter Aσ was defined to quantitatively calculate the reinforcement stress of RC beams.
