摘要
•Infused water with herbaceous or tree leaves have drawn attention for the multiple bioactivities attributed to them.•The leaves of Q. eduardii have traditionally been consumed as an infusion for medicinal purposes aimed at reducing gastrointestinal symptoms, without having a clear consensus on its effects.•This study explores the consumption of one cup of Q. eduardii infusion per day, demonstrating its anti-inflammatory and antitumor properties in the colon.•It is shown that the infusion of Q. eduardii modulates the microbiota with the establishment of families of microorganisms capable of metabolizing phenolic constituents with anti-inflammatory and antitumor effects.
