Wavelength-switchable noise-like square pulsed fiber laser based on nonlinear effects

•Noise-like square pulsed lasers can switch between single-wavelength and dual-wavelength square pulse.•It is proved that the high-intensity nonlinear effect is beneficial to the formation of dual-wavelength noise-like square pulses.•The pulse width of the square pulse is independently adjustable and has a large adjustable range.
