Abstract
Introduction Hepatobiliary scintigraphy (HBS) using technetium-labeled mebrofenin is increasingly used to preoperatively estimate the risk of adverse outcomes after major liver resections. Sarcopenia has been independently associated with adverse outcomes after surgery, including liver resection. This study aimed to correlate patient and disease related factors, including sarcopenia to total liver function (TLF) through HBS analysis.
