生土是实现循环建筑的最佳材料1.若按照德国生土建筑协会规定的生土建筑标准Lehmbau Regeln2 使用,生土可以无限期地重复使用.传统上,在土质适合的地方,生土只是被简单地夯实了.而有了预制构件,夯土结构就呈现出了一种新的活力.现在人们也可以使用从建筑工地挖掘出来的生土所制成的预制构件来建造建筑物.而对混合结构的研究正在扩大生土潜在的用途.
