Abstract
In software engineering domain, a model is used for tracing the interrelated steps of software development and is called software development life cycle (SDLC) model. In the model, several iterative steps are followed for project planning and management. Thus, several SDLC models are used for this process. In today’s IT industry and enterprise, mostly an agile framework is employed, but yet based on the requirements, IT industry opts for other SDLC models as well. The major focus of this chapter is to show the kind of challenges and ambiguities that are found at client side after software deployment if the software is developed using the prototype SDLC model. Also we conduct a survey in an enterprise that is operating on CRM-based software, which is developed using the prototype model, to find what sorts of difficulties are faced in the same scenario. We analyse the types of ambiguities that arise due to poor management of requirements and how it affects software quality and customer satisfaction. Moreover, we also discuss the challenges that the enterprise face when in the prototype model new features are added continuously based on the business requirements.
