Combined Procedures for Keratoconus

This chapter reviews the combined treatment options used in keratoconus; most of the chapter is dedicated to corneal cross-linking (CXL)-plus. This treatment involves the use of CXL to stop the progression of keratoconus, combined with a refractive treatment such as intrastromal corneal rings, intraocular lenses, or laser procedures. The chapter exposes the advantages and disadvantages of each of the combinations, as well as the pros and cons of their sequences to give the reader an overview of the different options available in selected cases of keratoconus.
