摘要
Fasciolosis is a disease caused by two trematode species of the genus Fasciola including F. hepatica and F. gigantica. The prevalence of global human fasciolosis is estimated as 2.4–17 million, with 180 million people at risk. Except two continents of the Arctic and Antarctic, the disease exists throughout the world. The importance of fasciolosis is reflected in the fact that the Expert Panels of World Health Organization on Food Safety and Nutrition have chosen fasciolosis for estimation its global burden.
