Coordinated optimal design of school building envelope and energy system

•A multi-objective coordinated design optimization method is presented.•Trade off the energy, thermal comfort, daylighting, and life cycle cost.•PV related variable is used as coordinated design variable.•It combines NSGA-II algorithm and multi-attribute decision-making method.•The global optimal design scheme is obtained by iterative optimization.
