Design and Development of Diagnostic Management Software for Automatic Transmission

Automatic transmission is a key component of vehicle transmission system. Fault diagnosis improves the reliability of automatic transmission through fault discovery, isolation and treatment. However, the diagnostic algorithm in fault diagnosis can only determine the abnormal state at a single time, so the diagnostic management is needed to further carry out the effective management of fault establishment, response and storage for all abnormal states. In the paper, the diagnostic management software (DMS) is designed for automatic transmission, and the corresponding function modules and integration tools are developed. Based on this fault diagnosis algorithm, the functions of state to fault evaluation (fault establishment), fault response, fault storage and erasure, fault output are realized. In addition, the integration of the DMS with a controller and the test of the specific fault handling function of the automatic transmission are completed. The results show that the designed DMS software can achieve the function of fault management and effectively support the development of automatic transmission electronic control unit (TCU).
