摘要
With great interest, we have read the recent paper by Ferré M et al. (1), that was published in Brachytherapy in 2021. They compared dosimetric outcomes before and after the evacuation of gasses using a rectum emptying tube. They observed that using a rectum emptying tube will lower the volume of the rectum. And there was a significant reduction in rectal dose after gas evacuation. There are some studies reported that rectal enemas (2,3), bladder-rectum spacer balloon (4), transvaginal artificial ascites infusion as a spacer on the effect of rectal doses in gynecological brachytherapy (5), but none of them have obtained results that rectum had a great benefit.
