Rydberg Atomic Sensor Sensitivity Optimization Using Detuned Microwave Field

High sensitivity detection of microwave signals is important for communication systems. The sensitivity of Rydberg atomic sensors at the standard quantum limit has great advantages over conventional systems, but the actual experimental systems has not reached such level yet. We provide an optimization method to improve the sensitivity of Rydberg atomic sensors based on the four-level model based on frequency detuning. It was numerically demonstrated that both the microwave field detuning and laser power settings can improve the sensitivity of the system.
