Abstract
Due to the weak electrical characteristic quantity of single-phase grounding fault in distribution network, it is not easy to achieve fault location. In engineering application, it is necessary to select nodes with high intensity of fault voltage traveling wave to collect fault signals. In this paper, based on the broadband features of ground fault transient signal, the concepts of equivalent node transient impedance and associated node transient impedance of distribution network are proposed to evaluate the transient voltage sensing ability of each node. Then, the equivalent transient self-impedance and mutual impedance between nodes are obtained through simulation calculation of typical faults in the distribution network, which can be used to give the ranking of signal perception intensity in the area. The method presented in this paper can provide a reference for the equipment configuration in the engineering application of fault location system with voltage traveling wave. Finally, the simulation is performed with the designed fault scenario, and the ordering result of positioning terminal configuration reference is given. It verifies the availability and feasibility of the proposed method.
