摘要
Heat sinks are commonly used in electronic industry to improve the cooling process and different technologies are adopted together with conventional heat sinks in order to enhance heat transfer rate. One of the methods is applying forced vibration on heated heat sink. This study applies the oscillating frequency between 20 Hz and 2000 Hz to 3D rectangular fin heat sinks under constant Reynold number and non-dimensional amplitude. Different heat sinks were considered with fin height between 0.0127 and 0.0203 m. The results of numerical simulation indicated that increase in oscillating frequency increases the Nusselt number while increase in fin height leads to a decrease in the Nusselt number. The maximum Nusselt number was obtained when the fin height was minimum with frequency at the highest level.
