Dressing Stark splitting of time-resolved excitation spectra in Eu3+-doped BiPO4 micro-crystals

The Stark splitting of 5DJ-7FJ transitions has been investigated by time-resolved dressing excitation spectra in Eu3+-doped BiPO4 micro-crystals with different phase structures. The evolution of the Stark transition peaks significantly depends on the laser power, bandwidth, delay time, temperature, and phase structures of BiPO4 crystals. It is explained by photon-phonon coupling dressing effect. There is competition between the crystal field splitting and the dressing splitting alignment in the line-shape evolution. The time-resolved dressing excitation spectrum provides an effective method to investigate Stark splitting and modulate line-shape for applications in optical communication.
