摘要
Behavior of drug delivery systems based on porous СаСО3 vaterites doped with dextran sulfate is described. The drug delivery systems containing antitumor antibiotic doxorubicin were implanted into rat muscle tissue for different periods of time (from 3 days to 3 months). At the early stages of the experiment, toxic influence of doxorubicin on the surrounding tissues and liver was revealed. In the course of time, doxorubicin toxicity diminished; the implantation site became surrounded with well-defined connective tissue capsule, and its contents underwent bioresorption. In 3 months after beginning of the experiment, virtually complete bioresorption of the implanted drug delivery system occurred.
