Abstract
The basic faults of conical crushers leading to prolonged downtime are considered. Wear and failure of the main components are associated with overloading on intake of the uncrushed mass (rock). The wear resistance may be improved by applying a hybrid coating to the component under the greatest load, which is the eccentric. Specifically, it is effective to use an electrospark coating of VK8 hard alloy; and a frictional surface coating of B83 Babbitt metal.
