With the rising requirement of handheld and portable devices, low-power and area-efficient circuits are prime concern for nanoscale devices. Binary-to-gray code converter is employed in various applications such as communication systems and processors. XOR gates have been significantly improved to enhance the performance of binary-to-gray code converter. The work proposes an idea to improve the efficiency of the 4-input binary-to-gray code converter with modification of transmission gate configuration. Binary-to-gray code conversion has been analyzed for existing and modified circuits using 45 nm CMOS technology. Simulation result shows the improvement in power consumption and delay by 28 and 40%.
