The Role of the Institutional Dimension in Defining Sustainable Development Policies in Italy

By integrating the theoretical perspectives on local development and those on sustainability, the study aims to overcome the traditional conception of development as economic growth by expanding it to include other dimensions. In particular, the study focuses its analysis on the institutional component of Sustainable Development. To this end, the component was explored through a set of variables extracted from the open data offered by the Open Civitas platform promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and SOSE. The goodness of correspondence of the variables is measured in the first case by the correlation coefficient R2, while in the second by the presence of high-high and low-low clusters on the maps generated by the algorithm of Moran's I bivariate.
