Application of Clay Shock Method to Restrain Settlement in Tunnel Foundation Under Canal

When the shield crosses the canal, certain countermeasures must be taken to control the surface settlement. To explore the key points of the application of clay shock method for Zhengzhou Metro under the main canal of South-to-North Water Transfer Project, this paper analyzes the construction of the clay shock method. The results show that in the construction of the subway project under the main canal of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, the clay shock method can effectively remedy the settlement problem in the subway shield construction, ensure the safety of the construction. The gap between the shield and the soil can be filled in time and effectively, the surface settlement value can be controlled within 2 mm, and the canal subgrade can be crossed smoothly. It can play a variety of effects such as water stop, filling and support in subway shield construction. This project can provide reference for similar underpass canal projects.
