•Delphinidin at 50 µM does not affect cell viability of mesenchymal stem cells.•Delphinidin increases S/G2/M cell cycle phases of mesenchymal stem cells.•Delphinidin supplementation modulates the synthesis of interleukin-10 and transforming growth factor-β of mesenchymal stem cells.•Delphinidin reduces the transcription factor nuclear factor-κB of mesenchymal stem cells.•Mesenchymal stem cells cultured with delphinidin inhibited macrophage metabolism•Mesenchymal stem cells cultured with delphinidin reduces, in macrophages, the synthesis of interleukin-1β, interleukin-12 and tumor necrosis factor-α.
