Synthesis Parameter Dependence of Morphology and Electrochemical Performance of Solvothermally Synthesized Multi Branched Spherical MnCO 3

The multi branched spherical MnCO 3 was synthesized by solvothermal method with MnSO 4 as manganese source and sodium citrate as surfactant. The morphology of the materials was characterized electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochemical properties of the materials were characterized by constant current charge discharge method. The electrochemical properties of the materials were characterized by constant current charge discharge method. The morphology of multi branched spherical MnCO 3 is affected by CA(citric acid)/OH – molar ratio, reaction temperature and time, the type of solvent. The result shows, the multi branched spherical MnCO 3 with a diameter of about 1–2 μm is obtained when CA/OH – is 1/2.5, reaction temperature and time is 180°C/18 h, added 30 mL deionized water. The sample synthesized at the optimized condition exhibited the first specific capacity of 2301.6 mA h g –1 at the current density of 100 mA g –1 and a good rate performance. The morphology of manganese carbonate is expected to be used as the precursor of anode materials.
