Abstract
We previously reported on real-time distance measurement in the terahertz range using a resonant-tunneling-diode (RTD) oscillator based on the frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar principle. In this new report, we show a significant reduction of the measurement error on fast moving targets achieved by synchronizing subsystems. We also demonstrate the radar in a one-dimensional scanning experiment that produces the two-dimensional image of a field with several targets.
