Production of hymenopteran parasitoids

Hymenopteran parasitoids have an important role in biological control and continue to be effective biological control agents of many economically important pests. Many species of hymenopteran parasitoids have been successfully used in augmentative releases against pests in many different crops. Augmentation biological control depends greatly on the capability to mass produce and release biological control agents. In this chapter we present methods of mass-producing parasitoids for controlling the silverleaf white fly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) biotype B; the Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri Kuwayama; filth flies; and the boll weevil, Anthonomus grandis Boheman.
