Abstract
Cordula Kropp, Kathrin Braun, and Yana Boeva explore a new variant of platform urbanism based on building data from urban planning, architecture, and construction. Since cities and buildings have assumed a two-fold existence in analogue and virtual spaces, what was once planned as a one-off building project can now be stored, recombined, and reproduced again and again. The paper outlines, how the emergence of echo chambers of digitally conceived and perceived cities, driven by large technology companies, may profoundly impact cities and the socio-material reality of buildings and places we live in.
