摘要
In this paper, a novel design of an optical Feynman gate is proposed and investigated. The proposed device consists of two cascaded silicon microring resonators using rib waveguides. By thermally tuning the two silicon microring resonators, the corresponding logic operations can be well performed. To verify the feasibility of the design, the proposed optical Feynman gate is experimentally demonstrated on a silicon-on-insulator wafer by using the commercial CMOS-compatible technology. Experimental results reveal that, at an operating wavelength of 1549.6 nm, the measured extinction ratio changes from 12.88 to 17.16 dB and the corresponding crosstalk ranges from −18.94 to −17.10 dB. The measured dynamic response times are 6.91μs and 15.68μs for the rising and falling edges, respectively.
