摘要
The objective was to evaluate body composition, food consumption and hydration of cyclists assisted in the NUTRES project at UFMS. Cross-sectional study, consisting of 19 cycling athletes, of both sexes. Sociodemographic, anthropometric, food and water intake data were evaluated. Body mass, height, circumferences and skinfolds were measured. Body Fat Percentage (%BF), Fat Mass (MG) and Fat Free Mass (FFM) were determined. Consumption was determined by the 24-hour recall and compared with minimum values from national and international recommendations. The cyclists had an average of 35.63 years, weight 71.78 kg and height 1.67 meters (m), most practitioners of the road modality, married, with secondary and higher education, white race and income above 5 minimum wages. The means obtained for arm circumference and arm muscle circumference were classified as eutrophic, normal waist circumference, %BF 21.84% and MLG 56.43 kg. In comparison with the Brazilian Society of Sports Medicine (2009), the consumption of energy, protein and lipids for both sexes was higher than the minimum values and insufficient carbohydrates for the female sex. According to the International Society of Sports Nutrition (2018), consumption of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids was higher than the minimum values for both genders and insufficient energy for females. There was a predominance of consumption of 1.5 to 2 L of water daily and an average of 1.27 L intra-training. Thus, the cyclists had satisfactory body composition and water intake and insufficient food consumption for carbohydrates and energy and above the minimum recommendations for proteins and lipids.
