Wettability tuning of natural rubber/polyvinylpyrrolidone electrospun nonwoven mats

•Electrospun fiber mats with NR/PVP are mixed in controlled concentrations.•Physical properties can be adjusted according to the polymer ratio.•The mean fiber diameter is influenced by the polymer blend concentration.•Tunable surface wettability can be attested by both experimental and theoretical approaches.•Partial water-dissolution suggests this system is a promisor candidate for biomedical applications.
